Investigators would like to find out what's in a cellphone, but they need to be cleaned up.
Here’s something you may not have thought of, even while watching the latest criminal investigation show on TV. Here’s the scenario: Someone is standing outside a club, texting an acquaintance. They’re gunned down. The police would like to recover the contents of the phone’s memory, but it’s contaminated with blood and presents a health hazard to the investigators. What do you do? The answer, as determined by researchers of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is an ultrasonic cleaner. They found two cycles of cleaning with a specific cleaning solution to remove all traces of blood without damaging the electronics.
