Ultrasonic Cleaner Makes 3D Printer Maintenance EasierJune 20th, 2012
Thirty years ago, when I first heard about them, machines that could produce three-dimensional models of a given shape were called rapid prototyping machines. Nowadays, they’re commonly called 3D printers. Either way, these machines extrude a resin and hardener (or a hardener into a resin reservoir) in specific shapes, building up a physical model of a computer model. It’s pretty neat stuff, but its not such a neat job to clean the nozzles. Luckily, the ultrasonic cleaner flies into the breach. This video might take the prize for the most boring ultrasonic cleaner video we’ve seen, but it makes the point: an ultrasonic cleaner takes care of that messy job.
