Ultrasonic Cleaning in Pets’ Periodontal Care
We need to look after pets just as we look after ourselves. In a post by the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA), they describe how they have started a new program. The program is to look after the dental hygiene and well-being of pets. They partnered with the Humane Society of San Antonio (HSSA). In particular, the UTHSCA staff demonstrate how to do periodontal cleaning. They used a special ultrasonic cleaner with a high-powered jet of water to remove plaque and tartar. While ultrasonic cleaning of teeth is radically different from the ultrasonic cleaners we carry, nevertheless it is a novel application of the process to pets!
