KERN FKT Scale
Technology and miniaturization have enabled manufacturers to place a powerful package of functions into a precision digital scale. As a result, these powerful, precise, compact and lightweight digital scales find use in the laboratory, in quality control departments, as industrial scales, and myriad other applications.
Multi-functionality is the term that best describes modern digital scales. A single scale, for example, can be used for such diverse tasks as check and recipe weighing, tolerance weighing, counting, dispensing, percentage determination, totalizing and more.
Industrial scale manufacturers such as Kern, represented by Tovatech, have taken great strides to simplify what could be a complex weighing and measuring instrument into an intuitive operating process. An example is the recently released Kern touchscreen FKT bench scale. Its clear menu structure allows users to employ the balance to the fullest of its functions without wasting time, thereby speeding workflow, saving time and money.
Operation is further simplified by a backlit 5.8-inch diagonal LCD touch screen display with a large keypad for comfortable input of text and an excellent contrast for strain-free reading. All function keys are labeled in plain text for easy understanding by personnel. The FKT’s menu tree overlay in the information bar allows operators to see at a glance which function is in use. The numerous memories allow storage and utilization of tare weights, reference weights, target weights for dispensing, etc.
These new bench scales, available with battery operation, support critical GLP/ISO record keeping by recording weighing data with the date, time and identity relayed to a PC and printer by an RS 232 interface. Recalibration, necessary to maintain GLP and GMP accuracy, is performed with external adjusting weights.
