Ultrasonic Cleaning Improves Health in Tattoo Parlors

An infected tattoo: proper ultrasonic cleaning is one step towards preventing this.
When you visit the tattoo parlor you usually want to leave with some artwork on your skin and a new attitude on life. You don’t want to leave with a new crop of pathogenic microorganisms. To help keep that from happening, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene produced Health Standards and Recommendations for Tattooing. After spelling out the dangers of infection, the document outlines specific preventive measures, including the use of ultrasonic cleaning, because it provides a “safe and effective means of cleaning most reusable instruments before sterilization.”
