Smooth Versatile and Effortless
IonQuest Ion Chromatography
Ion Chromatography equipment, full systems

Finally, Ion Chromatography with Flat, Stable Baselines and High Sensitivities

The IonQuest system uses the upgraded CE 4710 Conductivity Detector, coupled with continuously regenerated chemical carbonate suppressor columns that provide flat baselines, high sensitivities, and speedy column equilibration for effortless Ion Chromatography.

Whatever your requirements, the IonQuest will provide great value plus a whole lot more.

Versatile Ion Exchange Chromatography Equipment

A single system will accommodate your requirements for now and the future. There is no limitation on the choice of eluents, columns, pumps, sample pre-treatment, samples and column conditions. IonQuest intruments makes adherence to EPA methods easy. A vast range of analytical columns can be supplied.

Exceptionally ultra-low drift

The use of high stability temperature control of the conductivity detector cell contributes to the extremely low drift of our systems. Peace of mind will be yours. The drift of the conductivity detector is so low, that overnight unattended runs are easily achieved when the detector is used with any of our reliable autosamplers.

High pressure mixing gradients

Using the pulse-free microprocessor controlled pumps, you can achieve precise control and repeatability of mobile phase mixtures, to 0.1% levels. Coupled with rapid responses to changes in concentration and lower incidences of bubbling of the mixed mobile phase, the achieved gradients are the best.

A large range of pumping volumes, with low volume pumping increments is available.
Method development can be achieved with fewer set-backs and the developed methods are more transferable and robust.

Additional Detector Options

In addition to the standard conductivity detector, the IonQuest IC systems can be used with other detectors, such as electrochemical, refractive index, UV/Visible, WaveQuest UV/Visible ultra-fast scanning and fluorescence. Your options are unlimited.

Analyze catecholamines in blood plasma with an electrochemical detector, while simultaneously analysing anions using a conductivity detector with one IonQuest system. Detect all the organic acids in wine using the conductivity detector, while simultaneously detecting the sugars with refractive index or electrochemical detectors. Amino acids, metals in soil or sludge, nucleic acids, fluoride and sodium in toothpaste, sodium in foods, bromide in water analysis.

About Ion Chromatography

Ion chromatography is a form of HPLC that uses ion-exchange resins to separate atomic or molecular ions based on their interaction with the resin. It is most useful in the analysis of anions for which there no fast analytical methods exist. Ion exchange chromatography can also be used for determination and quantification of cations and biochemical species such as amino acids and proteins. Most ion-exchange separations are done with pumps and metal columns which are temperature controlled.

Only Ion chromatography can provide quantitative analysis of anions at the ppb (part per billion) level. This technique is also used to determine ions in liquids and ionic contamination on the surfaces of wafers, chips, and packages. Filtered (to remove interferences) and/or diluted aqueous solutions, are required for analysis. Solid samples are extracted with water to remove ions from the sample surface. Organic liquids are often extracted with water to obtain an aqueous solution of ions for analysis.

Wide Ranging Automatic Sample Treatments
For certain ion chromatography methods, analysis is made easier by the use of in-line derivatization. The IonQuest can accommodate post and pre column derivatization.

A wide choice of versatile autosamplers enable sample pre-treatment, including temperature control and reagent mixing on the autosampler, prior to sample injection.

Microplate autosampling and low carry-over units are also available.

We can provide custom configured systems on request. Our technical helpline is available both pre and post sales. We will always do our best for you.

Labile Samples
Many samples, especially those of a biological nature , require special handling. IonQuest autosamplers will provide sample cooling. Our programmable column oven provides for a wide range of excellent analytical separations. The conductivity detector ensures a constant detection temperature. PEEK/non-metal flow paths are available to protect metal sensitive and metal adsorbing samples.

Easy Installation and Maintenance

The IonQuest is typically user installed and maintained. However, our world-wide network of trained service engineers can provide installation, service and preventative maintenance if requested. Spare parts and accessories are competitively priced. Our aim is to keep you and your analysis running smoothly.
