Three Ultra sonic Cleaner Modes
The Elmasonic S Ultrasonic cleaner operates in 3 modes: Sweep, Degas, and Normal. Cleaning is optimized in Sweep mode. The Sweep function guarantees a homogeneous sound field distribution by continuously shifting the sound field maxima. Freshly mixed cleaning liquid does not clean efficiently until fully degassed, as dissolved gas suppresses cavitation. The Degas function accelerates the degassing process in the cleaning liquid. In Normal mode the Elmasonic S mixes, disperses, emulsifies, and dissolves samples. 3-Mode operation in benchtop units is unique to Elma.

Your cleaning results depends on four factors:
Ultrasonic energy is probably the most important mechanical factor in the cleaning process. This energy must be transmitted through a liquid medium to the surfaces which are to be cleaned. The Elmasonic units utilize our innovative sweep function device: electronic oscillation of the sound field (sweep function) prevents the formation of zones of low performance in the ultrasonic bath.
For of dirt particles a suitable cleaning agent is required. Elma has a large range of cleaning media on offer. Cleaning chemicals are also necessary to reduce the surface tension. Cleaning chemicals increase the efficiency of the ultrasonic activity.
The effect of the cleaning medium is improved by the optimized temperature of the cleaning liquid.

Finally the cleaning time depends on the degree and the kind of contamination and on the correct selection of ultrasonic energy, cleaning agent and temperature.
An Ultra sonic Cleaner with Unique Control Features
Using Autostart, the ultrasonics will begin running after the bath reaches the set temperature. Autodegas runs the unit in pulsed mode for 10 minutes to remove gas bubbles from the cleaning solution before automatically switching to sweep mode for cleaning. Autodegas is recommended before starting the cleaning process. These automated features enable controlled, stable processes. The LED displays continuously show the set temperature, actual temperature, set cleaning period, and time remaining. For safety reasons the unit automatically switches off after 12 hours.
Convenient Ultra sonic Cleaner Accessories
Another factor in ultrasonic cleaning concerns the loading of parts or the design of the basket or containers for holding the parts. The loading of parts in the ultrasonic cleaning tank should be such that neither the parts nor the basket are on the tank bottom. The sum of the parts’ cross-sectional areas should not exceed 70% of the tank’s cross-sectional area. Elastomers and non-rigid plastics will absorb ultrasonic energy and should be used cautiously for fixturing. Insulated parts may have to be specifically oriented. Incorrect basket design, or a basket having too high a mass, can greatly reduce the effectiveness of the best ultrasonic cleaning system. Any material more tightly woven than 50 mesh screen acts as a solid, while slightly larger openings scatter the ultrasonic waves. Openings larger than one- quarter inch tend to act as open material. Hooks, racks, and beakers can also be used to support parts.
Ultrasonic cleaning equipment utilizes high energy waves at frequencies higher than that audible to humans. This enhances the chemical and mechanical cleaning effects of aqueous liquids. Ultrasonic energy, although high in power, has no measurable impact on human hearing - in fact, there are no established time weighted average exposure limits for frequencies above 20kHz (20,000 cycles per second) .
