Digital flow meters measure HPLC pump accuracy in fractions of milliliters per minute. Accurate flow delivers reproducible retention times and keeps regulated labs compliant.
HPLC qualification depends on precise pump flow. Flow meters replace slow volumetric or gravimetric checks with quick, optical readings that remove operator variability.
Readings in seconds instead of 10-15 minutes per point with manual volumetric or gravimetric methods.
Optical sensing removes meniscus reading error; linear across full flow range of 0.05-25 mL/min.
Traceable calibration and data output for audit trails and IQ/OQ/PQ packages.
Lightweight and compact; one flow meter services multiple systems or sites.
Metrologists who have used the FlowCal 5000 never want to go back to manual methods!
Compact, accurate, and ready for every HPLC system.
Annual recalibration is highly recommended. The flow meter is shipped with a traceable calibration certificate valid for one year. Even if your flow meter is still operating within specifications at the end of 1 year, it will be cleaned and adjusted for improved accuracy.
Recalibration must include a calibration point at 1 mL/min. You can request any number of additional calibration points between 0.05 - 25 mL/min. Standard 3-point recalibration is at 0.5, 1, and 2 mL/min.
Typical turnaround: about 2 weeks. Rush service is usually possible for an additional fee.
It is accurate to ±1% of reading over the linear range of 0.05-25 mL/min, with a standard deviation under ±0.5%.
The flow meter displays 4 digits (e.g. 0.050 mL/min), but when using an RS232 interface, the readings are output to 4 decimal places (e.g. 0.0500 mL/min).
Annually. Flow meters are shipped with traceable certificates valid for 1 year. Call to schedule and get shipping instructions.
No, the flow meter is open to atmospheric pressure and cannot be used inline under pressure. It is connected to your HPLC system at the end of the line where the solvent exits at atmospheric pressure.
Yes, it is compatible with any HPLC system operating with a standard HPLC solvent at a flow rate between 0.05 and 25 mL/min. If you have unusual solvents, call so we can confirm.
The flow inlet is a 1/16 inch diameter PEEK tube and can be connected with a standard fitting for HPLC tubing. Connecting the flow meter is easy.
Typically about 2 weeks. Rush service is usually possible for a fee; call to arrange.
Recalibration includes as-found data only at 1 mL/min. As-found data at other flow rates can be provided at additional cost, but it must be included on your recalibration purchase order.
It is optional. If you need hardcopy audit trails or field printing, we recommend it.
Tell us your flow range, solvent compatibility, and calibration interval. We'll help you select the right meter and schedule traceable recalibration.
