What is the Elmasonic P Line?

The Elmasonic P Ultrasonic Cleaners have an incredible amount of ultrasonic power for the fastest and most thorough cleaning and sample preparation. Offers total control of the ultrasonic process: choose frequency, power level, time, temperature, ultrasonic mode. Select operation at 80 kHz for virtually silent cleaning of fragile instruments and even fine capillary tubes. The versatile ultrasonic cleaner preferred by R&D laboratories.

Product Features

Dual Frequency Operation

The P line can be operated at two frequencies, 37 and 80 kHz. Standard sonication tasks are accomplished at 37 kHz. Operation at 80 kHz is virtually silent. The tiny 80 kHz cavitation bubbles safely clean surfaces of the most delicate equipment such as spectrophotometer cuvettes that would normally be damaged by ultrasonic cleaning. The high frequency creates a cavitation stream inside small diameter capillary tubes, cleansing areas that cannot be cleaned at the 35-40 kHz range of standard models.

Timer

The digital timer can be set from 1-60 minutes with automatic switch off, or for continuous operation with manual switch off. For safety purposes the unit will turn off automatically after 12 hours of continuous operation or if the temperature reaches 90°C. These safety shut-off features prevent damage to the items in the tank as well as to the ultrasonic equipment.

Variable Power

The ultrasonic power is fully adjustable allowing you to set the intensity of the ultrasonic cleaning process to suit the durability of the surface to be cleaned. Power regulation enables cleaning without etching, scratching, marking, or otherwise damaging fragile instruments.

High Maximum Power

The P line has higher average and peak ultrasonic power than any ultrasonic bath on the market. The increased power results in faster cleaning of parts as well as faster mixing, dissolving, emulsifying, and dispersing of laboratory samples. P line units are ideal for dispersing nanoparticles and for dissolving nearly insoluble substances.

Power Tracking

The microprocessor-controlled generator maintains constant ultrasonic power, sensing and adjusting for light or heavy loads in the tank. Digital operation ensures reproducible performance from run to run.

Four Ultrasonic Modes

P line models can be operated in Normal (fixed frequency) mode, Sweep mode, Pulse mode, or Degas mode. These four modes are optimized for mixing, cleaning, intense cleaning, or degassing, respectively. Sweep mode produces a continuous slight variation of frequency to provide uniform and thorough cleaning. Pulse mode produces intermittent spikes of additional ultrasonic power, used to dissolve nearly insoluble samples or remove tenacious contaminants.

Convenient Digital Display

P line offers total control over the ultrasonic process. You can select ultrasonic power, ultrasonic frequency, ultrasonic mode, time, and temperature. You can even pause a process with the Hold button, remove your samples temporarily, and resume the ultrasonic process when ready.

Heater

All P line models have an adjustable digital thermostat that can be set from 30°C to 80°C in 5°C steps. The ceramic heaters are dry-run proof, however, ultrasonic units should never be operated without liquid in the tank.

Drain

All P line models (except P30SE) have a rear drain with a valve for easy emptying of the tank. The valve is located on the side of the tank for easy access.

Frequently Asked Questions

What applications is Elmasonic P built for?

Elmasonic P is built for precision cleaning and lab workflows that require dual frequency, adjustable power, and tighter process control for sensitive materials.

What is the benefit of 80 kHz operation?

The 80 kHz setting produces finer cavitation for delicate surfaces, capillaries, and precision components where gentler cleaning is required.

Can I tune power for fragile parts?

Yes. Variable power control allows you to lower intensity and reduce risk of surface damage while still improving cleaning consistency.

Does Elmasonic P support sample preparation tasks?

Yes. P line units are frequently used for degassing, dissolving, dispersing, and other prep tasks in technical and R&D environments.

How do I pick the right P model size?

Use your largest basket requirement and throughput targets. We can help map part geometry, chemistry, and run time to the best model.

Will it damage the tank if I set it to run continuously and forget to shut it off?

No. The Elmasonic P line models will automatically shut off after 12 hours of continuous operation. This protects the tanks and any parts left in the tank. The unit will also shut down for safety if the temperature reaches 90°C.

Do these units have UL or CSA electrical certification?

Yes, the P line models have UL and CSA certification.

Need help sizing a P-Line system?

Share your basket geometry, chemistry, and throughput targets. We can map your requirements to the right P-Line model.
