The P line can be operated at two frequencies, 37 and 80 kHz. Standard sonication tasks are accomplished at 37 kHz. Operation at 80 kHz is virtually silent. The tiny 80 kHz cavitation bubbles safely clean surfaces of the most delicate equipment such as spectrophotometer cuvettes that would normally be damaged by ultrasonic cleaning. The high frequency creates a cavitation stream inside small diameter capillary tubes, cleansing areas that cannot be cleaned at the 35-40 kHz range of standard models.
The digital timer can be set from 1-60 minutes with automatic switch off, or for continuous operation with manual switch off. For safety purposes the unit will turn off automatically after 12 hours of continuous operation or if the temperature reaches 90°C. These safety shut-off features prevent damage to the items in the tank as well as to the ultrasonic equipment.
The ultrasonic power is fully adjustable allowing you to set the intensity of the ultrasonic cleaning process to suit the durability of the surface to be cleaned. Power regulation enables cleaning without etching, scratching, marking, or otherwise damaging fragile instruments.
The P line has higher average and peak ultrasonic power than any ultrasonic bath on the market. The increased power results in faster cleaning of parts as well as faster mixing, dissolving, emulsifying, and dispersing of laboratory samples. P line units are ideal for dispersing nanoparticles and for dissolving nearly insoluble substances.
The microprocessor-controlled generator maintains constant ultrasonic power, sensing and adjusting for light or heavy loads in the tank. Digital operation ensures reproducible performance from run to run.
P line models can be operated in Normal (fixed frequency) mode, Sweep mode, Pulse mode, or Degas mode. These four modes are optimized for mixing, cleaning, intense cleaning, or degassing, respectively. Sweep mode produces a continuous slight variation of frequency to provide uniform and thorough cleaning. Pulse mode produces intermittent spikes of additional ultrasonic power, used to dissolve nearly insoluble samples or remove tenacious contaminants.
P line offers total control over the ultrasonic process. You can select ultrasonic power, ultrasonic frequency, ultrasonic mode, time, and temperature. You can even pause a process with the Hold button, remove your samples temporarily, and resume the ultrasonic process when ready.
All P line models have an adjustable digital thermostat that can be set from 30°C to 80°C in 5°C steps. The ceramic heaters are dry-run proof, however, ultrasonic units should never be operated without liquid in the tank.
All P line models (except P30SE) have a rear drain with a valve for easy emptying of the tank. The valve is located on the side of the tank for easy access.
Elma stands behind their products. All Elma ultrasonic cleaners come with an industry-best 2 year warranty. If the unit malfunctions because of a manufacturing defect, simply call us and we'll repair or replace the unit.
